1 / 5Following a period of high winds, a mature poplar in a residential garden suffered a major limb failure, leaving a large section hanging in the canopy above the garden and adjoining boundary. Our team attended the next day to assess the tree and carry out an emergency make-safe.
With the failed limb still partially attached and under load, a climb-and-rig approach carried unnecessary risk, so we brought in our CMC S18F tracked spider lift to access the damage directly. Working from the platform, our climber sectionally removed the hanging limb and any other compromised material, lowering sections in a controlled manner to make the tree safe for the household and neighbouring properties.
